Call us at 1-800-233-8493 and ask for Bill Lorimer or Ed Breon. He can enter your dimensions in AutoCAD and determine if we can proceed without a template or describe which dimensions are needed to ensure a proper fit of the odd-shaped grid or mat.

New Construction

[click for larger version]

On a new construction application, oversize your concrete recess (2" for mats, 3" for grids) beyond the overall/required frame dimensions. This will allow the unit to be installed more easily. Use non-shrink grout to fill in the gap between the frame and the oversized recess.

Existing Construction

On an existing construction application, supply us with the size of the recessed pit, the overall size of the vestibule, or the desired size of the outer edge of the installed frames.

With existing construction, often the product is intended to fit within an established area. If this is true for your project, please supply us with dimensions "A" and "B", as shown. We will make the frame to those dimensions and the mat to fit the frame.

Traffic direction

Correct traffic direction is very important to establish. The "A" dimension is the width of the unit. The "B" dimension is the length of the side for which the traffic flows in order for the unit to act as a foot scraper.

To ensure that sections can be handled easily during maintenance, mat sizes are based on a 200 pound maximum weight per section (average weight is 2 lb per sq. ft.).
